New project at Boyd Cave, Oregon:
The Pain Crack Project.
Guaranteed to chip three or four flappers per session, so painful that THE Mike Holmes said, “Don’t ask me to climb anymore,” after we had worked it for only one hour.
Pain Crack drew blood from all four climbers who attempted it on Saturday night.
But it was too fun.
Sharp jams to a pinch on the 30-degree start. A high undercling and match at the start of the 70-degree roof. A thigh-bruising knee-bar. And the sharpest, most wicked slots a climber could ever ask for.
Pics from the session –
1. Trad Thad working past the undercling (Danielle and Mike spotting):
2. The similarly dressed Mike Holmes playing copycat on the same move.
