Another Real Rejection.

Another fiction rejection from this week.  This is what the editor said (I’ve restructured his words into a bad haiku):

“Structure and language

were really strong in this piece

but plot too heavy.”

What I think he actually meant:

“Structure and language

are not as important here

we like light plot, fluff.”

  1. The fact that he actually took the time to tell you what’s wrong means you have real promise as a writer. Suck it up, learn from what he said, and send him something else with a lighter plot.
