Dirtbag Training Diary (Plus Yosemite)

Off to Yosemite this morning.  Three routes I will get on:  East Buttress of Middle Cathedral (11 pitches, 5.10c),  Root Canal(V7 in Curry), and The King (V7 at the Cathedrals).

Two classics I haven’t sent but will:

1. Circuit Breaker (highball V2 in Curry, angled crack)

2. Initial Friction (highball V1, Camp 4 slab)

Zorro is supposed to be a fun V4.  I like long moderate trad routes too, so a lot to choose from in the Valley.  My climbing partner wants to climb Snake Dike on Half Dome but we’ll see if Valley temps will be too high for that on Friday.

Cathedral boulders and Open Books to get feet under us on Tuesday.  Then harder stuff on Wednesday, Thursday.

Training Diary:

– Sat:  Big Endurance day on the training wall in the garage.  50 moves then rest.  85 then rest.  Sets of 100.  50 again.  All on near vertical.  Big holds then small holds.  Then roof climbing.

– Sun:  Cross-training sprints.  Jumping jacks.  Weightless squats.  Push-ups.  Sit-ups.  Light curls, reverse curls, and upright rows.

Long drive now.  Lots of Bob Dylan.  Stealth camping tonight in El Portal (sleeping under a car?)

  1. Circuit Breakers are really necessary if you want to protect your home appliances. In hour house we use at least 10 circuit breakers with different circuits to each appliance. ,”:`: Kindest regards healthmedicinelab
