  1. just finished the book “Sources of the River”, (Jack Nisbet) about the explorer David Thompson, the discoverer of the headwaters of the Columbia River. In a word, this book could be called ‘when boys were men’, as Thompson started his long adventure at the age of 14 as a Hudson Bay employee. An excellent read that will make you appreciate the rigors of life when living was an ordeal.
